Wild Card preview and prediction: Rams at Seahawks

Previewing and predicting the wild-card matchup between the Seattle Seahawks and the Los Angeles Rams at Lumen Field.

Prediction if Jared Goff plays: Seahawks over Rams 20-17

Prediction if John Wolford plays: Seahawks over Rams 20-6

Sean McVay’s team has failed to find the end zone for two weeks now, but I don’t expect him to make it three if Jared Goff plays. Goff may not be a dynamic player, but he is still certainly a starting-caliber quarterback in the NFL and McVay is far too good a coach to not get back to scoring touchdowns.

However, if it is Wolford who has to play, the Seahawks will have a considerable advantage.

As for the Seahawks’ offense, they have been floundering for almost two full months of play, but manage to come alive in clutch moments late. I expect more of the same from them on Saturday, unless Goff or Wolford provide Russell Wilson and Co. with favorable field position off a timely turnover.
