Why Titans can’t wait to turn calendar to October

October has traditionally been a very good month for the Titans since 2020.

The Tennessee Titans had a rather underwhelming first month of the 2023 campaign, dropping two out of their first three games to start the season while often looking lifeless in the process.

Fortunately for them, they’re now entering the month in which they’ve dominated more than anybody else since the start of 2020.

Over the last three years, the Titans have produced the highest win percentage in the month of October (.833).

Tennessee has an impressive record of 10-2 over that span during the Halloween month, including going a perfect 4-0 a year ago following a similar 1-2 start to the 2022 season.

The Titans’ only two losses came against the Pittsburgh Steelers in a battle of the unbeatens in 2020, as well as a complete letdown game against the New York Jets one year later (2021).

Since then, Tennessee has won an NFL-best eight consecutive games in the month of October.

If the Titans want to extend that streak to nine wins, they’re going to have to find a way to beat a Cincinnati Bengals team that has won all three of their matchups in the Mike Vrabel era.
