Why the Bucks would be smart to sit Giannis Antetokounmpo for Game 5

It’s the right call.

Whether the Milwaukee Bucks decide to play the injured Giannis Antetokounmpo in Game 5 of their playoff series against the Miami Heat or not, it’s certain what the decision should be.

As our Charles Curtis says above, it’s this: sit him.

That’s for a few reasons. The first is no NBA team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series, and although the Bucks somehow won Game 4 with the Greek Freak out, risking further injury to one of the NBA’s best players isn’t a good idea with those odds.

The second has to do with Antetokounmpo’s future with the team. If he doesn’t sign an extension this offseason, it’s possible the Bucks might want to trade him to get something back instead of losing him for nothing when free agency hits. And as hard as that is in the postseason, at this point, it’s the best choice.
