Why Ryan Pellum is still a top target for USC in 2024

This receiver is a known entity in California but might be underappreciated on a national level.

Ryan Pellum is a top target for USC at wideout in the 2024 class. The Long Beach, California, native is a four-star recruit according to 247Sports, Rivals, ESPN and On3. In the 247Sports Composite, Pellum is the No. 4 player in California, the No. 6 receiver in the country, and the No. 48 overall prospect in his class.

In 2022, Ryan Pellum caught 52 passes for 1,028 yards and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 19.8 yards a catch and also racked up 27 tackles on the defensive side of the ball at cornerback. Pellum also had 10 touchdown receptions and 722 yards as a sophomore in 2021.

USC signed three wide receivers in the 2023 cycle, including the No. 1 receiver prospect in the nation, five-star Bishop Gorman (Nev.) star Zachariah Branch.

The four-star 2024 WR out of Millikan (Calif.) High School is a hidden gem nationally, but in California everyone knows he’s the truth and a sleeper in the class. He’s someone who could earn a fifth star or a huge bump in the overall rankings when it’s all said and done.
