Why Oklahoma wins or loses against Texas Tech on Saturday

There’s no two ways about it: this is a must-win for Oklahoma. Not because this would be a big win, but because it would be a terrible loss.

For a program that’s just three weeks-removed from the brink of total collapse (according to some), and rapidly regaining momentum, another bump in the road simply isn’t something they can afford.

A sixteen-point line is strangely low for a Texas Tech team that’s very likely to finish ninth in the conference. It’s not that the markets don’t have faith in Oklahoma to win this game, but they don’t have faith in them to win it convincingly.

Simply put, Texas Tech’s offense does not have the firepower to move the ball consistently against what’s turning out to be a stout Oklahoma front. And Texas Tech’s defense definitely doesn’t have the talent to keep up with an Oklahoma offense that’s finally starting to click.

This game shouldn’t be close. If it is, that enough should be reason to worry.
