Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Jamel Dean has continued to improve over his first three seasons in Tampa Bay, and is primed for a career year as he heads into the final season of his rookie contract.
One of the biggest catalysts to Dean’s development in Tampa Bay has been defensive coordinator Todd Bowles, who is now the team’s head coach.
During his rookie season, Dean admitted that making the jump to the NFL showed him just how much he still had to learn about the game, particularly when it came to watching film. It didn’t take long for him to realize the valuable resource he had in Bowles, who took the young cornerback under his wing and began to impart a career’s worth of knowledge about how to play defensive back at a high level.
