In what has been an intriguing build-up to the biggest game of the season, the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers will battle it out in Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Sunday night.
What makes this matchup so interesting is the different ways both teams have found success in 2019. The clashing of opposite gameplans and strategies should turn into a fun Super Bowl to watch.
On one side, the Chiefs’ high-flying offense is arguably the best in the game. They have to players and scheme to beat any opponent on any given day. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, the Chiefs have scored a combined 86 points in their two playoff games this postseason.
Head coach Andy Reid will be looking to complete his legacy with a Super Bowl win. He will be working with weapons that include Travis Kelce, Tyreek Hill, Mecole Hardman and Damien Williams.
On the other side of the ball, the 49ers boast the best passing defense in the NFL while sporting a tenacious pass rush that wreaked havoc on the league in 2019. Leaning on that incredible defense and their superior rushing attack brings out an old-school style of football in a time that is seeing the game change to more of a pass-heavy league.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan will be looking to move past the 28-3 blunder of Super Bowl LI. He will be working with an offense featuring Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert and George Kittle.
