The Pittsburgh Steelers have a problem. Well, they sort of have a problem. Unlike a team like the Minnesota Vikings who have a clear No. 1 receiver in Justin Jefferson, Pittsburgh has several players who have that sort of potential but no one who is established at the top target.
The top candidates to lead the team in receiving yards at this point are wide receivers Diontae Johnson and George Pickens or tight end Pat Freiermuth.
Last season, Johnson led the team with 882 receiving yards and Pickens just being him with 801 yards. Freiermuth only had 732 receiving yards but looks like he’s ready for a breakout season.
The pressure is all on quarterback Kenny Pickett. Most expect to see a leap in Pickett’s game in his second season but will he find a single target to rely on week after week or will it constantly change?
