With former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown unable to stay out of the news, it has us thinking about who the greatest wide receiver is in franchise history.
There are four players in the running here. John Stallworth, Lynn Swann, Hines Ward and of course Brown.
When talking about the greatest of all time, it really comes down to your own personal criteria. Statistically, Ward is the best receiver in franchise history. He holds the record for career receptions, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
If we are just talking talent, it’s Brown. His skills were on another level when he was at his best. And his six-season run was the greatest by any receiver in NFL history.
Then there is the predicament of Swann and Stallworth. They both played together and they played on a team that won Super Bowls but didn’t dominate statistically. They are iconic and are part of some of the biggest plays in franchise history.
