The 2023-24 San Antonio Spurs season was defined by Victor Wembanyama. The 20-year-old rookie was amazing, leading the league in blocks and emerging as one of the best defenders in the NBA. He’s very clearly the centerpiece of their franchise moving forward, and it’s up to the SPurs to put him in the best possible position to win.
But what about everyone else on the team? What about the guys who were a part of the SPurs’ rebuild prior to Wembanyama’s arrival? How did they do this past season. How did they adapt to playing with Wembanyama and what does their future with the team look like?
The Locked On Spurs YouTube channel recently discussed which Spurs players improved the most over the course of the 2023-24 seaosn.
Guys like Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan both had solid seasons, but even some of the Spurs’ role players, such as Julian Champagnie and Blake Wesley, stepped up throughout the year.
