Which Chiefs player will be snubbed from NFL Network’s Top 100 Players list?

It’s looking like one of two players might be snubbed from NFL Network’s annual list.

NFL Network’s, “The Top 100 Players of 2020” returns on Monday evening. One of the six Kansas City Chiefs players voted to list by their peers this season has already been revealed. Defensive end Frank Clark came in at No. 95 on Sunday.

The Chiefs had a total of six players make the list in 2019 including Patrick MahomesTyreek HillTravis KelceChris JonesMitchell Schwartz and Clark. Who could be the odd man out for the 2020 edition of the annual list?

There are four players that we can assume are on the list. Those players are Jones, Kelce, Hill and Mahomes. In fact, Mahomes could even be up for the top spot on the list after his Super Bowl-winning season and Super Bowl MVP Award.

Right now it’s looking like one of two Chiefs players was left off this year’s list. Schwartz, who made the list last season, could be omitted from the 2020 list. He’s consistently mentioned as one of the most underrated players in the NFL and it doesn’t help that he plays right tackle. Despite pitching a shutout during this past postseason, Schwartz could still be underappreciated by his peers.

One player who didn’t make the list last year, but is certainly deserving of recognition this year is Tyrann Mathieu. During the second half of the season, he had a legitimate case to become the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year. He was outstanding in a number of different situations and thrived in the Chiefs’ system during his first year with the team. Like Schwartz, Mathieu has been an underdog throughout his career.

Mathieu responded to a fan on Sunday evening, suggesting he wouldn’t make an appearance on the Top 100 list from 100-71.

Perhaps we won’t see him on the list at all?

Be sure to tune in tonight on NFL Network as players No. 70-41 on the list are revealed.
