Which 2020 quarterbacks will the Dolphins see throw at NFL Combine?

The Miami Dolphins will see all of the potential star quarterbacks of the 2020 NFL Draft this week in Indianapolis. Which ones will throw?

The Miami Dolphins are in full-fledged attendance in Indianapolis this week on the next step of their journey to rebuilding the roster. And while the most important news the Dolphins may look to acquire throughout the course of the week may not be happening on the field (but rather in medical rooms and in interviews), there will still be a public duel between some of the quarterbacks who look to capture the hearts of the Dolphins.

Miami, who currently picks 5th in the 2020 NFL Draft order, is going to poke, prod and grill the likes of LSU’s Joe Burrow, Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oregon’s Justin Herbert — hoping to find some clarity on which one is the right one for them. The good news for Miami? They’re all in the same place.

The bad news for Miami? Only one of the three quarterbacks is currently planning to throw here in Indianapolis. Tagovailoa, of course, has a legitimate excuse. His dislocated hip continues to heal and everyone knew coming into this week that Tua’s appearance this week would be simply for the behind the scenes treatment.

No throwing, no running, no jumping.

But we’ve also learned that, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Joe Burrow isn’t expecting to throw, either.

The argument will be made that Burrow has nothing to gain from throwing on the field — he’s generally considered the top quarterback prospect, he’s coming off a record setting season and he’s never thrown to the Combine’s receivers before.

That leaves just Justin Herbert for the Dolphins to watch on the field. His explosive arm will undoubtedly put on a show. The question will be whether or not he can sell the Dolphins on the rest of his resume.

On-field workouts for quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends commence on Thursday.
