Where USA TODAY Sports has Florida playing its bowl game post Week 8

No changes in USA TODAY Sports’ bowl game outlook ahead of the Georgia matchup this weekend.

Florida football is on the cusp of its most difficult stretch of the season, but the good news is that the first half of the schedule went mostly well for the Gators. Amidst a fall with low expectations, Billy Napier and Co. have been building the program back up slowly and steadily, and the results are starting to show on the field.

Following the bye week for the Orange and Blue, USA TODAY Sports’ Erick Smith published his complete outlook for the college football bowl season now that Week 8 is officially in the books. Florida stood pat in the latest update, still matched up with Southern Methodist Mustangs on Dec. 23 in the Birmingham Bowl.

Next up for the Gators is their annual rivalry game against the Georgia Bulldogs which will take place at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, on Oct. 28, with a kickoff time of 3:30 p.m. EDT set. The game will be broadcast on CBS Sports.
