There is still a long ways to go in the 2024 recruiting cycle for college football and the North Carolina Tar Heels are off to a hot start.
This class will be a very important one for the future of the program as UNC is looking to build on another bowl appearance from a year ago. Mack Brown and his staff currently have 20 commitments in the class with two four-star recruits headlined by the flip of defensive back Zion Ferguson.
The rest of the class is made up of 18 three-star recruits giving UNC a score of 205.6 on 247Sports.com. That score is good enough for a top 20 ranking by the site.
UNC is ranked No. 15 nationally and the No. 2 school in the Atlantic Coast Conference behind only Clemson who is No. 12 in the nation.
Having 20 commitments at this stage is a good thing as UNC has been able to reel in some of their top targets on the recruiting board. It also means that they could be close to finishing up the class and the ranking that they have may fall a little when all said and done due to other programs landing commitments.
But for now, things are looking up here in this 2024 cycle.
