Where UNC football lands in College Sports Wire’s rankings

Here is where the UNC football program ranks in College Sports Wire’s Top 25 through the first four weeks.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are 4-0 going into their bye week as the college football season heads into Week 5. After a win over Pitt to open up their Atlantic Coast Conference schedule, the Tar Heels look to reset and get ready for the meet of their conference schedule.

With the 4-0 record, the Tar Heels find themselves ranked in both the AP and Coaches polls this week. But they also find themselves ranked in College Sports Wire’s top 25 going into this week.

The Tar Heels check in at No. 16 in the rankings, which is up one spot from last week’s rankings. Here is what staff had to say about the Tar Heels:

After finding themselves down 14-7 early in the second quarter, North Carolina would outscore Pittsburgh 34-10 over the remainder of the game to improve to 4-0 on the season. Drake Maye had an efficient day, completing 22-of-30 passes for 296 yards and a touchdown. The Tar Heels are off to a good start so far, but if they can get Maye really going, they’ll be a very hard team to beat the remainder of the way.

North Carolina is the third-highest ranked team from the ACC in the rankings behind No. 5 Florida State and No. 14 Duke.

Miami also checked in at No. 18, giving the ACC four total teams.
