Where UNC basketball lands in latest bracketology

Here is where the UNC Basketball program lands in the latest ESPN Bracketology.

Both the transfer portal deadline and NBA draft deadline have passed, ending exciting periods but also giving college coaches a better idea for their roster here in the upcoming 2023-24 season.

With both deadlines passing, Joe Lunardi of ESPN has decided to release an updated version of his bracketology. Yes, bracketology here in June.

Lunardi makes updates after key dates have passed and these deadlines were just the latest. This bracketology is based on the rosters right now although a lot can and will change between now and the time March Madness rolls around.

For North Carolina, Lunardi has them in the field and as a number four seed in the South Region. They are matched up against No. 13 James Madison.

This projection is higher than the last as UNC has moved up from a No. 6 seed to this No. 4 seed.

The Tar Heels will look to avoid missing out on the NCAA Tournament for a second-straight year, following that disaster last season. The roster does have a lot of turnover but they do return both Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis as well as welcome in a two-man 2023 class and a four-man class out of the transfer portal.
