The SEC is hands down the best conference in college basketball entering the new year. Its members are 168-22 in nonconference play and at least nine teams are in the top 25 depending on which poll is used.

Texas A&M started the season roughly, but coach Buzz Williams has his team settled. It is on a six-game winning streak and can reach seven before it starts conference play.

The Aggies are No. 1 in the nation in offensive rebounds and No. 8 overall. On the offensive end, they have been shooting better, and, as usual, they are one of the better defensive teams in the nation.
