Two superstars powered the Colorado Buffaloes throughout the 2024 season. Cornerback/wide receiver Travis Hunter is the odds-on favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, but we can’t forget quarterback Shedeur Sanders’ historic senior year.
The recent Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner burst into Colorado’s record books, throwing for 3,926 yards and 35 touchdowns while completing 74.2% of his passes. Sanders would’ve been a Heisman finalist in most years, but on Friday, it was revealed he finished eighth in Heisman voting.
Ahead of Sanders, Penn State tight end Tyler Warren finished seventh, Army quarterback Bryson Daily took sixth and Arizona State running back Cam Skattebo was fifth. Indiana QB Kurtis Rourke placed ninth and Syracuse QB Kyle McCord was 10th.
CU fans can argue that Sanders should’ve placed higher, but it appears Heisman voters decided against placing two players from the same team in the top four.
