Where SEC teams rank in the AP Poll after Week 4

Florida football isn’t anywhere close to an AP Top 25 appearance after four weeks of play, but 11 other SEC teams earned votes this week.

Florida had no hope to make the AP Top 25 this week, despite bringing its season record up to 2-2. However, several SEC teams remain ranked after four weeks of play.

Five SEC teams are ranked inside the top six — No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Georgia, No. 4 Alabama, No. 5 Tennessee and No. 6 Ole Miss — and the Missouri Tigers are just outside of the top 10 at No. 11 following a double-overtime win over Vanderbilt.

LSU moved up two spots to No. 14 after beating UCLA, Oklahoma dropped six places to No. 21 and Texas A&M rounds out the list at No. 24 in the country.

South Carolina (7) and Arkansas (3) also earned points from the voters and are unofficially ranked Nos. 36 and 37, respectively.

Up next for the Gators

Florida does not play next week with its first bye of the season scheduled. The UCF Knights will come to Gainesville in Week 6 for a 2021 Gasparilla Bowl rematch. The Gators are looking for revenge after falling to the Knights, 29-17, under interim head coach Greg Knox.

UCF features the best rushing attack in college football through four weeks of play. The Knights average 375.7 yards on the ground and have 13 touchdowns on the ground. Meanwhile, Florida is ranked 107th of the 133 FBS teams in run defense after allowing 188.8 rushing yards per game.
