After Thursday the Texas Longhorns football team will be more than halfway through spring football, with the spring game and summer workouts in clear sight. We are more likely to get answers to our burning questions (who will be the starting quarterback, who will be the starting offensive line, will the Longhorns land a few more needed transfers, etc) in the summer and fall than we are in the spring. But there is one place that Sark should have an answer to at the end of spring that will dictate how things go in the fall.

When he arrived at Texas a little over a year ago, Sark had very little say in how the roster was assembled, having arrived after early signing day and near the end of the first portal season. So, he and his staff installed the playbooks as they had them rather than tailoring them to their personnel. But now that he has seen much of the remaining team play, he should have a good idea about what his team does well, and aim to maximize that rather than just installing what he wants to do without regard to whether or not he has the players to do it. But that remains to be seen.
