Where Penn State stands with a couple notable Class of 2023 recruits

Penn State is off and running in the Class of 2023 and is in the hunt for some notable recruits.

As we near the end of the year, we are just few days away from Penn State‘s bowl matchup against Arkansas in the Outback Bowl. We have seen a flurry of opt-outs from Penn State. However, we have also seen a couple of players announce their returns to Happy Valley.

Penn State continues to make key additions for their future, including a three-star offensive tackle last week. Penn State is also continuing to make final lists of some talented players across the country.

The first one is four-star linebacker Jayvant Brown. Brown has two other Big Ten schools on his list, including Michigan and Ohio State.

It’s not too surprising that the Nittany Lions are targeting Brown. He had received multiple offers across the country, but “Linebacker U” would make a lot of sense, especially watching the amount of success they have at the NFL level.

The next one is yet another quarterback out of Pittsburg, California in Jaden Rashada. Penn State Offensive Coordinator Mike Yurcich has done an impressive job in his recruiting process of quarterbacks thus far, and Rashada would be a nice addition to a team with a young quarterback room.

Rashada recently released his top 10 schools, with Penn State making the list with some other heavy competition to follow.

Rashada played his freshman season in Brentwood, California before transferring to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

The last one is a four-star defensive tackle out of Kissimmee, Florida in John Walker. Penn State currently has a deep defensive line room filled with underclassmen. Walker would be a nice addition to a talented room full of players eager to make a name for themselves.

Walker also recently released his top five schools with Penn State making the list. Again, Penn State also has heavy competition with this one, competing with both Alabama and Ohio State. If they manage to land Walker over to highly prolific schools who have done an impressive job developing defensive lineman, that would be massive and a potential sleeper of a recruit for the Nittany Lions.

As Penn State heads into their matchup against Arkansas on Sunday, this will be a great opportunity for the underclassmen to start making a name for themselves. On top of that, Penn State has still kept busy building for their future with some talented guys currently on their radar.
