Where Florida football ranks in 247Sports’ SEC preseason poll

The Florida Gators have a lot to prove on the field this fall.

Southeastern Conference media days are in full swing this week and to commemorate the midsummer event 247Sports released its SEC preseason rankings on Monday.

Among the 16 member schools after the expansion of the league this past offseason, the Florida Gators find themselves ranked No. 12. That puts Billy Napier and Co. just behind the Kentucky Wildcats and ahead of the South Carolina Gamecocks in the conference projections.

The poll is comprised of input from 14 writers covering the league along with national writers Bud Elliott and Chris Hummer.

Florida’s 2024 season opener

The Florida and the Miami Hurricanes open their schedule on Aug. 31 in Gainesville, Florida. Kickoff time is slated for 3:30 p.m. ET and the game will be broadcast on ABC Sports.
