Florida baseball took two of three from the Tennessee Volunteers on the road at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tennessee, last weekend after earning a midweek win over the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats at home. As a result, the Gators find themselves in the same spot once again in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll for Week 8.
The Orange and Blue remain ranked third in the nation for the fourth-straight week. The lowest Florida has been listed this season so far is No. 6 — which came in Week 2 after starting in the preseason poll at No. 5 — but since then the Gators have inched their way up before plateauing at No. 3.
UF is joined by fellow Southeastern Conference schools LSU (No. 1), Vanderbilt (No. 4), South Carolina (No. 5), Arkansas (No. 6), Kentucky (No. 11) and Tennessee (No. 12), which closely mirrors last week’s poll results with the exception of the Vols’ four-spot drop.
