The LSU Tigers won the 2019 national championship behind a record-setting offense and Heisman-winning quarterback Joe Burrow.
With such success comes consequences. After LSU’s championship, several players bypassed their final year of eligibility and entered the 2020 NFL draft.
Overall, 14 former Tigers were selected in the draft, which tied an NFL record in the seven-round era.
The loss of so many quality players has affected the Tigers on the field in 2020. Also, LSU also lost star receiver, Ja’Marr Chase, just before the season after he opted out due to concerns regarding COVID-19.

Now that we are halfway through the 2020 NFL season, it’s time to start looking ahead to the 2021 NFL draft.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz of USA TODAY Sports recently unveiled his midseason mock draft and included a couple of LSU stars in the first round.
The Miami Dolphins, which are projected to have the No. 7 overall pick via the Houston Texans, selected Chase.
Miami, which selected its quarterback of the future in 2020 in Tua Tagovailoa, gets a true No. 1 receiver in the former Biletnikoff Award winner.

Chase isn’t LSU’s only star wide receiver to go in the first round.
The Baltimore Ravens, who select No. 29 in the midseason mock draft, chose Terrace Marshall Jr.
The 6-foot-3 junior from Bossier City, La., has 31 receptions for 540 yards and nine touchdowns in just five games. Marshall had at least two touchdowns in LSU’s first four games before being held out of the end zone.
If two LSU wide receivers went in the first round, it wouldn’t be the first time. In 2007, Dwayne Bowe and Craig Davis each went in the first round of the NFL draft.
