Our friends at For The Win recently ranked the NFL’s 32 projected starting quarterbacks in eleven tiers, although with fractions (such as 1.5 and 2.5), it ended up being listed as seven tiers.

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson is ranked in Tier 4.5, the category that Christian D’Andrea listed as QBs who “fell off enormously in 2022 but are significantly better than that.” Wilson is joined in that tier by Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Here is part of D’Andrea’s commentary on Wilson’s ranking:

Both Watson and Wilson were messes in 2022, ranking 32nd and 27th, respectively, in EPA/play among 37 quarterbacks who took at least 200 snaps in 2022. There’s reason to believe each can bounce back. Wilson got a new head coach who oversaw late-stage Drew Brees and still pushed the New Orleans Saints to perennial playoff status (Sean Payton).

Patrick Mahomes (Tier 1) and Josh Allen (Tier 1.5) were the top QBs on the list and Baker Mayfield/Kyle Trask (Tier 7) were ranked at the bottom. To view the full list of QB rankings, visit For The Win.
