Michigan State football could find themselves playing a big-time SEC program before Christmas this year if things play out as Brett McMurphy projects.
McMurphy of the Action Network released his updated bowl projections on Monday, and he has the Spartans heading to Tampa. McMurphy pegged the Spartans for the Gasparilla Bowl in his latest projection, facing the Florida Gators.
Michigan State is 4-4 overall and 2-3 in Big Ten play following the loss to Michigan this past weekend. The Spartans will need to pick up two more wins in order to reach bowl eligibility.
Michigan State will look to boost its bowl stock in a big-time home matchup against Indiana this week. Kickoff between the Spartans and Hoosiers is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
