Where does LSU rank in current bracketology from USA TODAY Sports?

The Tigers are currently a No.6 seed in USA Today’s latest bracketology projection.

We are getting close to conference tournaments and March Madness, which means it is bracketology time. USA TODAY Sports’ latest bracket has the LSU men’s basketball team as a No. 6 seed. The bracket features six total SEC teams.

The Tigers are in the East Region taking on 11th-seeded San Francisco in the current bracketology ahead of Wednesday night’s game against the Georgia Bulldogs. LSU is 18-7 overall and 6-6 in conference play while Georgia is struggling. The Bulldogs are 6-19 overall and 1-11 in the conference, and it should be an easy (and much-needed) victory for the Tigers.

LSU started the year off fast and struggled in the past couple of weeks with the loss of Xavier Pinson. With Pinson back, the Tigers need to close the season out strong and play well in the conference tournament, and possibly LSU can get a higher seed.

Along with LSU, Auburn is a No. 1 seed. Additionally, Kentucky comes in as a No. 2 seed while Tennesee is a No. 4 seed, Arkansas is a No. 6 seed, and Alabama is a No. 7 seed. If LSU can make some noise these next few weeks, it could easily be a top-four seed in the NCAA Tournament. But it will take some stellar play if the Tigers want to get a higher seed.
