Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson moves point spreads the third-most of any non-quarterback in the NFL, according to an analysis done by For The Win’s Ben Fawkes.
Fawkes found that oddsmakers change spreads by an average of 1.67 points because of Jefferson. Other than quarterbacks, the only two players who move the spread more are Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (1.83 points) and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (1.75 points).
Every oddsmaker had these three players atop their top rankings, but there was discrepancies among the order. Some had all three tied, some had Hill as No. 1, some had Kelce and Jefferson above Hill. Regardless of the order, it’s clear that these three are the most important against the number.
It should come as no surprise that Jefferson moves the needle when it comes to the spread. He is arguably the best wide receiver in the league.
His No. 3 ranking on this list also makes sense considering who is above him. Kelce and Hill are mismatches for defenses in ways that Jefferson isn’t. Kelce is arguably the best receiving tight end in NFL history, and Hill has the speed of a pure sprinter.
