Where does Jaquan Brisker rank among NFL draft safeties in 2022?

Where one NFL draft analyst ranked Jaquan Brisker among the draft’s best safeties.

Penn State safety [autotag]Jaquan Brisker[/autotag] was one of the best players Penn State had on the field during the 2021 season, but the next time he steps on a football field in a uniform it will be for an NFL team looking to add some quality depth to their defensive backfield. Brisker is heading to the NFL draft and is widely regarded as one of the top safeties in the draft pool.

But how exactly does he stack up against players like Notre Dame’s Kyle Hamilton and other top safeties on the big boards of NFL teams this draft season? According to one former NFL scout, Brisker is among the best of the best. Bucky Brooks, of NFL.com, recently updated his top five rankings for each position in this year’s NFL draft. Brooks ranked Brisker in his top five, which should come as no surprise given the talent and draft outlook for the now former Penn State safety extraordinaire.

According to Brooks, Brisker is the third-best safety in the draft pool. This opinion appears to be a pretty trendy one given updated mock drafts and draft rankings for the safety position. Notre Dame‘s Hamilton has long been hyped as the top safety in the draft, and he tops Brooks’ latest top five at the safety position. Brisker is one spot behind Michigan‘s Dax Hill. Georgia‘s Lewis Cine and Oregon‘s Verone McKinley III round out Brooks’ top five behind Brisker.

Here’s what Brooks had to say about Brisker;

Brisker possesses a variety of skills that could make him a Swiss Army Knife-like playmaker as a pro. He excels near the box, but also flashes the instincts and awareness to be an effective pass defender between the numbers.

Brisker isn’t the only Penn State player making a top five for Brooks. Wide receiver [autotag]Jahan Dotson[/autotag] also appeared in the top five receivers ranking by Brooks.
