We are currently in the bye week for Penn State football, which is a good time to take a look at the draft stock of current Nittany Lions for 2022.

Instead of creating one long article of Penn State prospects, we are going to create a series of them.

Today, we will start with Penn State wide receiver Jahan Dotson. Dotson has really developed into one of the best receivers in the Big Ten. His speed, along with the rest of the Penn State wideouts, is elite and there are plays where he does an outstanding job creating separation with his defenders.

In terms of his route running, he is quite easily top five in the country in that aspect of his game. You can see how much he expanded his route tree throughout the years, especially this year under a new and revamped offense under new offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.

Sure, Dotson isn’t the bulkiest receiver, weighing in at 184 pounds. But, he still plays with a ton of explosiveness and has one of the most impressive hands in the Big Ten. One might remember Alabama wide receiver and current Philadelphia Eagles receiver Devonta Smith, who weighed 170 coming out of college, backed it up with his game and well, you know the rest.

Dotson’s biggest leap came in 2020, where he recored 884 yards and eight touchdowns in just nine games. Through midseason, Dotson currently has 494 yards and six touchdowns, on pace to have a career season with Penn State. His collegiate career has been nothing short of impressive as a Nittany Lion.
