Where does Duke football rank among the ACC according to ESPN FPI?

Despite a comfortable Week 1 victory, the Duke Blue Devils remain close to the bottom of the ACC in ESPN FPI rankings.

It’s fair for Duke football fans to still have a few questions after the Blue Devils’ Week 1 victory over Elon.

Duke won by 23 points, but they didn’t score a touchdown until the final minute of the first half. Quarterback [autotag]Maalik Murphy[/autotag], in his first game with the program, failed to connect on several deep throws after slightly overthrowing or underthrowing his target, and the Blue Devils averaged less than three yards per carry.

However, even with those points of concern, Duke still came away with a comfortable win. That’s more than other members of the ACC can say. Florida State already has two losses, Clemson got bullied by Georgia, and Virginia Tech lost on the road to Vanderbilt despite entering the game as double-digit favorites.

However, even with the number of ACC teams that disappointed in Week 1, ESPN FPI remains pessimistic about the Blue Devils. Through one game, Manny Diaz’s team only outranks two other teams in the conference.
