Connor Essegian surpassed all expectations in year one as a Badger.
Essegian set the Wisconsin record for made threes as a freshman while averaging over 11 points per game and shooting 36% from distance.
Ant Wright, a popular Big Ten content creator on Twitter, recently posted his top five shooting guards in the conference ranking, and Essegian was in the middle of it.
Trailing behind a pair of more experienced players in Tyson Walker and Terrence Shannon Jr., Essegian placed third on the list.
The Badgers will ask Essegian to take a step forward this year in volume and production, but it won’t be anything the rising sophomore can’t handle.
He has spent his summer on the international circuit, making his national team debut for Armenia during a pair of friendly matchups against France in June.
