Despite riding a two-game skid, No. 25 Arkansas is still catching the eye of the experts at ESPN.
In the latest ESPN Power Rankings, the Razorbacks check in at No. 23 ahead of their matchup with Mississippi State on the road this Saturday.
Arkansas is special because of how well they played in the 3rd quarter of last Saturday’s loss to Alabama says ESPN’s Alex Scarborough:
Give the Hogs credit for storming back in the second half. After trailing Alabama by three touchdowns, Arkansas got a 13-yard touchdown, recovered an onside kick, kicked a field goal and ran in another touchdown to make it a 5-point game. But then Alabama reminded everyone why it was a 17-point favorite when it put together two touchdown drives in the span of two minutes to secure the win — and Arkansas’ second straight loss. Sam Pittman will need to right the ship — and the struggling secondary — ahead of next Saturday’s trip to Mississippi State.
Arkansas is one of six schools listed in this week’s ESPN power rankings. The Razorbacks’ week six opponent, Mississippi State, failed to make the rankings this week despite being ranked in two major polls.
