Nik Bonitto broke onto the scene in 2019 with 3.5 sacks as a full-time player in Alex Grinch’s defense. Though not a great number, he showed an ability to play the run and rush the passer with equal effectiveness.

In 2020, Bonitto announced that he was one of the best college football players in the country with his nine sacks per College Football Reference. Bonitto also added 11.5 tackles for loss.

Bonitto was the most efficient pass rusher in the country last season after recording a 93.6 pass-rushing grade. He’s also barely scraping 240 pounds. He needs to add mass and a power element to his game. – Michael Renner, Pro Football Focus

If there’s been a knock on Boniott, it’s his size. At 240, it might limit him to certain schemes, and some defensive coordinators might want more size for a guy who would fit best as a 3-4 outside linebacker or a 4-3 weakside defensive end.
