The Oklahoma Sooners are one of the most talented teams in college football. Despite their youth, they will bring some of the best at their position to the field on Saturdays. With what used to be a team that relied upon their offense to win shootouts, the defense will be able to carry the load because of the talent at every level of the defense in 2021.
That talent will be on display during the 2021 college football season and will also be representing the University of Oklahoma at the 2022 NFL draft next April.
Over at Pro Football Focus, they released their top 100 draft prospects heading into the 2021 college football season. More than anything, this can help serve as a guide for players to watch during the 2021 season.
It’s no surprise at this point who most draft analysts consider the number one player in the 2022 NFL draft. Though some may differ and place Derek Stingley Jr. from LSU or Kayvon Thibodeaux at number one, Rattler is the top quarterback in the country on one of the best offenses in the country.
His talent is undeniable. The only thing that he struggled with at times in 2020 was his ball security and decision-making, both of which improved as the season went along. There’s no reason to believe that they’ll be an issue in 2021.
1. Spencer Rattler, QB
It wasn’t a perfect redshirt freshman year for Rattler by any means, but he showed more than enough in his first year as a starter to be considered a franchise-type quarterback talent. He oozes arm talent and playmaking ability after earning a 92.5 passing grade in 2020. – Renner, Pro Football Focus
Though Spencer Rattler may not be a surprise, it may surprise you to see the next player show up in Pro Football Focus’ top 20. And at the same time, if you pay attention to Pro Football Focus, you know that they love some Nik Bonitto.
