The Dolphins’ early draft selections will likely be invested in building up the supporting cast for Tua Tagovailoa — who kept the Dolphins feisty against the Chiefs on Sunday despite not having DeVante Parker or Mike Gesicki down the stretch. That, plus a barren running game that has fallen flat as the depth of the Dolphins’ running back room has been tested, gives Miami some clear objectives to attack and a very defined strike zone of where they’ll be looking for upgrades for their young quarterback.
With three weeks left in the 2020 NFL season, the Dolphins appear poised to lock in a top-10 pick courtesy of the Houston Texans. They’ll press onward this December; but the path to Miami’s ultimate goals runs through this upcoming April one the less.
