With a few teams getting new jerseys this offseason, it’s only right to loop back to a familiar question — where do the Cincinnati Bengals rank?

The Bengals have the iconic helmets, though the jersey design itself has been a point of speculation for fans.

Over at Touchdown Wire, Barry Werner ranked every jersey in the NFL and slotted the Bengals seventh overall:

“The Bengals earn their stripes with the sharp black, orange and white look that plays off one of the coolest helmets in any sport. They roar.”

That’s a surprising ranking. While the helmet alone could carry the Bengals to a top-10 spot in the minds of most, fans have long requested the team consider getting a little more modern and doing away with things like the blocky shadows behind the numbers.

Something more like, say, the excellent color rush offering:

Regardless, the Bengals do seem to have one of the more polarizing jerseys in the NFL.

And this sort of conversation extends to logo usage too, as a vocal element of the fanbase has asked the team to shift from the “B” back to the actual tiger logo.
