The Eagles went years without having any elite young talent, but after some roster retooling, Philadelphia is loaded with up and coming personnel.
PFF does a yearly list of the top 25 players in the NFL under the age of 25, and this rendition landed just one Eagle on the list, with DeVonta Smith landing at No. 16 overall.
16. WR DEVONTA SMITH, PHILADELPHIA EAGLES
Smith is on track to be one of the top young receivers in the game, if you don’t already believe he’s there. He recorded a 77.6 receiving grade in 2021 and took a nice jump to 81.1 in 2022 as part of the Eagles’ offensive surge that propelled them to the Super Bowl. His passer rating when targeted was 113.9 with a low drop percentage of 5.2%.
Jalen Hurts was left off the list despite being 24 years old at the time of the rankings, but he’ll turn 25 on August 7.
Cowboys star pass rusher Micah Parsons was No. 1 on the list, followed by Justin Jefferson (Vikings, Tristan Wirfs (Buccaneers), Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals) and Sauce Gardner (Jets) rounding out the top 5.
Social media reacts to everything, as experts and fans wondered how Smith and Trevon Diggs (25) could be ranked so low.
