The Clemson football program under Dabo Swinney experienced a decent 2023 season, yet both the team and its supporters anticipated greater achievements.

Despite concluding their season with an exhilarating 38-35 victory over Kentucky in the Gator Bowl, finishing with a 9-4 record and a 4-4 standing in the ACC left much to be desired. As the curtain fell on the 2023 campaign, attention swiftly turned to the prospects of the 2024 season, with discussions swirling about the potential transformation of Clemson’s roster and performance.

National Signing Day has now come and gone, and we know exactly what the Clemson football roster should look like in 2024. Following signing day, 247Sports updated their way-too-early 2024 rankings, with the Tigers falling one spot from No.14 to No.15.

Clemson won five straight to end the 2023 season and while the Tigers failed to meet elite-level expectations as one of the ACC’s perceived frontrunners. The biggest blow offensively is Will Shipley after his early 2024 NFL Draft entry. Clemson gets Phil Mafah back, but it’s going to have to manufacture production elsewhere in the run game to take some of the pressure off Cade Klubnik, who’s back for his second season as the Tigers’ QB1. Clemson did get a couple key pieces back defensively despite losing a few to the portal.

Clemson lost some talent on both sides of the ball, but the 2023 team was a young one. On defense, fans shouldn’t have too many worries, considering how Clemson has repeatedly proven to have top-tier defenses.

The questions really come on the offensive side of the ball, where the Tigers lose less talent but also need to prove that they can return to a form where they can compete for a national championship. The Tigers should be one of the most intriguing teams in 2024.
