Where Clemson ranks in 247Sports AP Top 25 preseason poll projections

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers have a high ceiling heading into the 2023 season.

The 2023 college football season is fast approaching, and we are all excited for this upcoming season to start and see our favorite teams back in action.

Dabo Swinney and the Tigers are among the most interesting teams heading into the season. The program has the potential to make a special run to the college football playoff but will need players across the roster to step up and play at a high level. If starting quarterback Cade Klubnik takes the next step under center, the entire Tigers’ offense should be elevated.

Media outlets release preseason rankings and projections as the season gets closer. The latest to do so was 247Sports, who recently released their AP Top 25 preseason poll projections

On these rankings, Clemson landed just outside the top ten, ranking No.11. Here is what writer Brad Crawford had to say about the Tigers.

The AP could easily pick Clemson ahead of Florida State to win the ACC, but some of that hope faded from a national perspective. Quarterback Cade Klubnik comes off his first-career start with Garrett Riley in tow and is tasked with being the face of the program alongside running back Will Shipley. Are you buying stock in Clemson as a preseason title contender or has the respect level simmered a bit on Swinney’s program? Klubnik mentioned at ACC media days last week that the Tigers enter the season with a chip on their shoulder, knowing their talent level deserves more due nationally. They have a shot early to show it.

The Tigers were the second-highest-ranked team for these projections, with Florida State landing at No.7. These two programs will face off early in Week 4, and it is shaping up to be one of the best games of the college football season.

A solid ranking for Clemson, they can far exceed it in 2023.
