Where can I watch the CFP rankings for Georgia football?

2024’s first College Football Playoff rankings will be released today. Where they rank UGA football? Here’s how to watch.

The Georgia Bulldogs (7-1, 5-1) have the best record in the SEC and are the highest ranked SEC team in the US LBM Coaches Poll at No. 2. However, Georgia is coming off an unimpressive 34-20 win over the Florida Gators.

Georgia’s spot in the initial College Football Playoff rankings is up in the air. UGA could be slotted as the No. 2 or No. 3 team. Anything else would be a major surprise.

Barring a shocking upset, Georgia’s path to the playoff is relatively clear. The Bulldogs need to beat Tennessee or Ole Miss and win their other games in order to secure a berth in the playoff. Of course, Georgia will try to win the SEC to earn a first-round bye in the expanded playoff.

Georgia football CFP rankings projection

We project Georgia to be ranked No. 2 in the initial playoff rankings behind the undefeated Oregon Ducks. We think Georgia will be ranked over Ohio State since Georgia has played a much tougher schedule.

UGA has ranked wins over Texas and Clemson. Ohio State is just 4-1 against Power Four opponents, while Georgia is 6-1. We don’t envision the committee being able to overlook this even though Georgia has been involved in several close games.

Ohio State, who are national title favorites, did just beat Penn State on the road, but the Buckeyes just have not played as many challenging games at Georgia.

How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024?

For the first time, there will be 12 teams participating in the College Football Playoffs. There are five automatic bids for each of the Power Four conference champions and one to the highest-ranked Group of Five champion. The remaining seven slots are given to the seven at-large teams.
