Because the Cincinnati Bengals haven’t experienced much success in a few years, it’s fair to believe that fans would absolutely take having a pick in the mid-20s in the first round of the draft if it meant stunning the world and winning the AFC North.
That’s where things stand at the moment. With the Bengals currently leading the AFC North and sitting as the No. 4 seed in the AFC, they are currently projected to have the No. 25 pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Of course, that can move up or down based on their playoff result, should they make the playoffs.
One slipup in the final three weeks can also send the Bengals right out of the playoffs and with a higher pick in the draft. To put it into perspective, the 7-7 Miami Dolphins would have the No. 11 pick in the draft. Well, they would have if they didn’t trade the pick to the Philadelphia Eagles, but you still understand the point. A lot can happen in these next few weeks. But the hope for the Bengals is that they don’t find out their draft position for another four weeks or more.
