Where average age of Titans’ roster ranked in 2022

The Titans ranked right in the middle of the pack in terms of the average age (snap-weighted) of their 2022 roster.

The Tennessee Titans are entering an offseason that has no shortage of uncertainty, but there is at least one reason for optimism for this team.

According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, the snap-weighted average age of the Titans’ 2022 roster ranked right in the middle of the pack at No. 17. The average age of the offense and defense ranked 11th and 16th, respectively.

The Titans are certainly not in an ideal spot with all the improvements they need to make, and general manager Ran Carthon has a lot of work to do, but at least this isn’t an aging, over-the-hill roster that needs a mandatory rebuild.

It’s feasible to think Carthon and head coach Mike Vrabel can simply re-tool this roster where needed, and if all goes well this team could certainly be back to competing again in 2023, and in the years to come.

Hopefully we’ll get a better idea of what Tennessee’s approach will be when Carthon meets with the media for the first time in his introductory press conference on Friday.
