Where are the Duke Blue Devils in the KenPom rankings after Tuesday’s win over Miami?

See where the Cooper Flagg and the Duke Blue Devils sit in the KenPom efficiency rankings after Tuesday’s game against Miami.

The Duke Blue Devils picked up an 11th straight win on Tuesday night, running the Miami Hurricanes out of town with 50 first-half points en route to an 89-54 victory, but it still wasn’t enough to overtake the Auburn Tigers for the top spot in the KenPom rankings.

As of Wednesday morning, the Blue Devils sit second in the website’s efficiency rankings with a +36.64 margin, narrowly behind Auburn’s +36.91.

The Tigers came within three points of an upset loss to South Carolina over the weekend, but even without National Player of the Year candidate Johni Broome, Auburn blew out a 14-2 Mississippi State team by 22 points on Tuesday. After a week of bouncing back and forth between first and second, the performance gave the SEC team some slight breathing room at the top.

Other than the Houston Cougars (+34.36) and Iowa State Cyclones (+31.16), no other team in the country sits above +29.2.

KenPom considered the Hurricanes a top-50 offense in the country ahead of Tuesday’s game, an understandable sentiment despite Miami’s record since the Canes routinely broke the 70-point barrier. The Blue Devils stayed second in the defensive rankings with the suffocating performance, allowing just 87.3 points per 100 possessions.

The Duke offense, which made 17 3-pointers to tie a season-high, now sits fourth on KenPom’s board after it reached 80 points for the fifth time in six games. No other team is even within the top nine in both categories.

Duke’s next opponent, Boston College, currently ranks 202nd with a 9-8 record.
