The Chicago Bears trimmed their roster from 80 to 53 players on Saturday, and it’s time for them to start building their 16-player practice squad and potentially make some changes to their roster on Sunday.
Just as the Bears released a handful of players, so did the rest of the NFL, which means there are a lot of players on the waiver wire that might interest the Bears.
But the Bears can’t just go out and sign any player. They’ll need to hope that another team ahead of them in the waiver order doesn’t also want that player. Which isn’t ideal given Chicago’s place on the waiver order list at 19th.
Here’s the order of the top 20 in the waiver priority list, including the 18 teams that could jump ahead of them.
1. Cincinnati Bengals
2. Washington Redskins
3. Detroit Lions
4. New York Giants
5. Miami Dolphins
6. Los Angeles Chargers
7. Carolina Panthers
8. Arizona Cardinals
9. Jacksonville Jaguars
10. Cleveland Browns
11. New York Jets
12. Las Vegas Raiders
13. Indianapolis Colts
14. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
15. Denver Broncos
16. Atlanta Falcons
17. Dallas Cowboys
18. Pittsburgh Steelers
19. Chicago Bears
20. Los Angeles Rams
