North Carolina’s 2024 recruiting class is still ranked No. 1 as the summer continues. With three commitments, Hubert Davis and his staff have a loaded class that is ready to come in and build on what we hope is a successful 2023-24 season.
The three-man class consists of Ian Jackson, Drake Powell and James Brown, after Elliot Cadeau decided to move into the 2023 class and joining the Tar Heels right away. Still, even with the three-man class, it’s a strong one and continues to get better.
On Monday, On3 released its updated 2024 class recruiting rankings for players, making the update after another month of AAU basketball in July.
For North Carolina, Ian Jackson leads the way with a ranking of No. 9 overall followed by No. 24 Drake Powell and No. 61 James Brown. Of the three recruits, only Jackson is a five-star in the rankings with Powell and Brown being four-star recruits.
Even with a big summer by Jackson, the site doesn’t believe he is in the top five.
While Jackson is in the top 10, it’s a lower ranking than where he’s at on 247Sports which is a top five prospect. The same is said for Powell who is in the top 10 on 247Sports.
Even with a big summer by Jackson, the site doesn’t believe he is in the top five.
