As a result of the program’s road loss to the Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide are now in what is ultimately unfamiliar territory for the program in recent years.
That is because of Alabama’s latest loss Saturday night at Oklahoma, the Crimson Tide now sit at 8-3 overall for the season, as well as 4-3 in SEC play, with one game remaining in the regular season.
As mentioned previously, this is largely unfamiliar territory for Alabama, as the Crimson Tide rarely found themselves in this scenario during the Nick Saban era. In fact, during those 17 seasons from 2007-23, Alabama had only two seasons with at-least three losses, the most recent of which came back in 2010.
The first of those two seasons was Saban’s first in Tuscaloosa back in 2007, a year in which the Crimson Tide went 7-6 overall. That season, Alabama’s third loss came on Nov. 3, with the defeat’s coming against Georgia, Florida State, and LSU.
In 2010, Alabama would go 10-3 overall in the year sandwiched between two national championships in 2009 and 2011. That season, Alabama’s third loss would not come until the Iron Bowl on Nov. 26 against Auburn, with the other two losses coming earlier in the year to South Carolina and LSU.
As mentioned previously, Alabama now sits at 8-3 overall for the year. Will the Crimson Tide now win-out to end the season with three losses as well?
