Reasons to draft CeeDee Lamb
- Lamb was arguably the best receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft, producing big numbers in all three seasons at Oklahoma with three different quarterbacks. He caught 173 passes for 3,292 yards and 32 touchdowns for the Sooners.
- Lamb will be replacing veteran slot receiver Randall Cobb, who caught 55 passes for 828 yards and three touchdowns last season. At this stage of their careers, Lamb is the more explosive player and should see even more looks in the red zone than Cobb did last season.
- The Cowboys had the second-most passing yards in the NFL in 2019 and hired pass-happy head coach Mike McCarthy this offseason. Dallas should exceed 600 passing attempts this season with QB Dak Prescott, giving plenty of work for Lamb in the slot.

Reasons not to draft CeeDee Lamb
- Lamb might not have as much upside (this season) as other rookie receivers considering he is playing along with studs in WR Amari Cooper and WR Michael Gallup.
- The Cowboys have plenty of other targets in the passing game, including TE Blake Jarwin and RB Tony Pollard. Lamb’s production might come in bunches and could be a difficult start-sit option each week.
When should I draft CeeDee Lamb in fantasy football drafts?
Heading into the 2020 NFL Draft, Lamb was widely viewed as the best or second-best receiver in the class. He was viewed as a potential top-10 pick but fell to No. 17 and into the laps of the Cowboys.
While the Cowboys are only a few weeks into training camp, he’s already emerged as a star in Dallas, becoming one of Prescott’s favorite receivers. But where should you feel comfortable taking the former Oklahoma star in your fantasy drafts?
Lamb is currently being drafted as WR36 in fantasy drafts, which feels a bit high for a rookie receiver. Unlike other rookies such as WR Henry Ruggs III and WR Jalen Reagor (both of whom are being selected after Lamb), it’s just not likely that Lamb will see similar as much work in the passing game.
There is a good chance that Lamb could outproduce his ADP this season, especially if he can score close to double-digit touchdowns. However, he is going to be a nightmare in traditional leagues as his production will likely be inconsistent. Pass on Lamb at his current ADP, as there are several players being selected behind him with more upside.
