On Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide are set to make what will be only their second-ever trip to Norman to face the Oklahoma Sooners.
In fact, this will only be the seventh-ever meeting between the Crimson Tide and Sooners all-time, as well as the third to take place on a college campus.
When was the last time the two met in Norman however?
The only time Alabama and Oklahoma have ever played in Norman was in 2002 when the Crimson Tide and Sooners played the first-ever matchup in between the two not on a neutral-site.
In that game, Alabama, led by then head coach Dennis Franchione, traveled into Norman to take on a Sooners team that was ranked No. 2 nationally at the time. Alabama would go on to lose the game as well, falling in Norman by a final score of 37-27.
The Crimson Tide would also go on to face the Sooners in Tuscaloosa only a year later, but would fall in that game as well, 20-13.
This defeat in 2022 at Oklahoma also began what would eventually become a three-game head-to-head losing streak for Alabama against the Sooners, with that third loss not coming until 2013. Alabama would eventually break that losing streak in 2018 in the CFP Semifinal.
Can the Crimson Tide pickup their first-ever win at Oklahoma on Saturday night?
