What’s all the hubbub surrounding Jayson Tatum’s new tattoo about?

The Celtics star’s choice of tattoo even caught the attention of Will Smith.

Boston Celtics‘ star forward Jayson Tatum has been making headlines this offseason for his expanding tattoo collection. One of his latest additions, simply reading “Life,” has caught the public’s attention for its reference to various movies, including “White Men Can’t Jump,” “John Q.,” “The Incredibles,” and “Hitch.” What makes it intriguing is the scene from “Hitch” featuring actor Will Smith’s character, Alex Hitchens, experiencing an allergic reaction.

Tatum’s tattoo choice caught the eye of none other than Smith himself, who commented on Instagram, asking “I need to know why that pic,” and tagged Tatum. The NBA All-Star swiftly responded, promising to explain the choice in person.

Tatum later revealed that the characters inked on his body are from movies he loves, and the folks behind the Bleacher Report YouTube channel put together a short that adds additional detail to Tatum’s unusual tattoo choice.
